Pruning is the most common tree maintenance procedure. Pruning is often desirable or necessary to maintain safety, improve tree structure and health, and make the tree aesthetically pleasing. Pruning goals must consider tree growth and development and the effects on the tree over the long term.
If trees are not maintained properly, hazardous conditions can develop and go unnoticed. Trees should be periodically pruned and inspected by a qualified arborist who can advise you of any cracks, splits, cavities, decay and other conditions.
If limbs grow too close to or over your house, or if more ground clearance is needed, we can selectively elevate or raise the branch level or crown of the tree, by removing lower limbs, or parts or ends of limbs, under prune primary limbs or leaders to provide clearance over and around structures.
Topping-is an antiquated, destructive and unacceptable practice, and most, but not all tree trimmers will advise against it. Because topping is such a fundamentally wrong thing to do, and knowledge of such is so widespread and basic within the industry we can only advise that you avoid any company that advertises or suggests topping. No matter how good the price (why would you want to pay someone to destroy your property?)-they are simply advertising their ignorance and lack of training.
We’ll come to your property and provide tree inspections to look for potential hazards and recommend mitigation options. Fees apply for arborist consultations
Sometimes trees must be removed. This is especially true in cases when they pose danger to people and property. Trees that are dead need urgent removal. In order to keep nearby buildings and homes safe, large trees are cut according to a plan. This is done to make sure that parts of tree lands in a safe place.
Every tree is either an asset or liability. When a professional uncovers a potential issue, perhaps the tree is damaged or diseased beyond repair. Tree removal may be required.
A professional arborist can work with you to safely and efficiently remove your tree. Many tree removals are complex and mistakes are costly – make sure the arborist you choose is qualified.
Here are a few questions to ask when looking for tree removal services:
- Is the tree service a TCIA (Tree Care Industry Association) accredited company?
- Does the tree service have ISA Certified Arborists on staff?
- Is the tree service insured?
- Can they explain how they plan to remove the tree? Do they plan to climb it?
We can completely remove the stump with all its roots and then regrade the yard. Having an excavator remove stumps gives you the best yard possible and it’s the only sensible way to go if you have many stumps throughout your yard or some very large stumps. After the stumps and roots are removed and trucked away, the yard will be perfectly leveled off and can be used for sports, gardens, patios, driveways or new plants.
You can pay us to bring one in for the day. Stump grinding works best when you have a few stumps that are too much work to dig out. It is especially good when a stump is next to a walk or driveway where you can’t access the roots for cutting and pulling the stump out. It’s a poor method if you want to plant a garden, shrub or another tree in its place, since the roots remain in the ground. It’s definitely not the right method if you plan on putting in a patio, driveway or building where the stump is. It also means the roots will eventually rot, collapse and cause sinkholes.
